About.

What is the Streets & Sidewalks program?
Each year the San Francisco Controller’s Office reports on the state of the City’s streets and sidewalks. This website is an interactive tool for the public to see how the well the streets and sidewalks are doing, based on criteria in the 2012 Street and Sidewalk Maintenance Standards.

There were fewer routes with "excessive litter" compared with Fiscal Year 2014-15.

Counts of graffiti increased across the City, particularly on commercial property and public property not maintained by Public Works.

More routes were free of broken glass, but there were more observations and reports of loose needles and feces.

New “hot spots” emerged in some neighborhoods like the Mission, Potrero Hill, SOMA, and Chinatown.
